Eduardo Manuel López

Saint Augustine Seminary 2nd Theology

My name is Eduardo Manuel López, I’m from Dulce Grande, in San Luis Potosí, México. I was born August 24th, 1988. My home parish is the Immaculate Conception Church, in Los Hernández, SLP., but in the United States I served at the church of the Blessed Sacrament, where I was a catechist and helped with the choir.

Since I was a child I felt an attraction for the holiness in the Catholic Faith, particularly in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. When I was older my pastor in Mexico kept asking me to try the seminary experience, but I was scared, though deep inside me I wanted to say yes. I came to the United States and got involved in my parish but it was not until 2011 when Father Fisher invited me to consider the priesthood, until I finally replied to God’s call: “I want to do what you want me to do”.

My vocational decision is my greatest decision, spiritually and personally, and I have matured and reflected on it through prayer and my work in the parish community. I have changed part of my life and my personal habits in order to little by little abandon myself to God’s will and mercy, so that he may do as he wants in me.

I became a seminarian for the Diocese of Memphis two years ago, and I am currently studying English to then continue my Philosophy at St. Augustine Seminary, in Toronto, Canada.
